This is a specially adapted, hand operated precision built zig-zag sewing machine ideal for the
amateur sailmaker, both on land and afloat. It can sew straight stitches in both forward and reverse mode and can sew
zig-zag stitches up to 5 mm wide.
This machine has been reconditioned and adapted by a certificated sewing machine specialist. Flat
bed machines of this quality are very hard to source. The machine head is of Japanese manufacture and the hand attachment is British made.
An electric motor can be easily fitted with one screw. (supplied separately)
This machine can be used on board a boat, in a caravan or anywhere where there is no mains electric
current available. It is of cast iron construction. The shuttle system is the oscillating type,
which is renowned for producing neat stitches in many types of fabric with varied threads.
It is very light in operation due to its precision mechanism. The internal gears are
of metal.
This machine takes standard flat sided needles and is easy to maintain for the amateur sailmaker. Needles, bobbins,
bobbin cases, shuttles, etc. are available worldwide.
The machine has a sturdy beechwood base which is fitted with a stabiliser bar. It has an attractive wooden cover with brass handle. It
has a built in light and it is supplied with a 240 volt and a 12 volt bulb. This can be connected to a 12 volt system
or mains current as available
